On August 21, China Seminar on Hydrogen Development Strategy, hosted by China Academy of Engineering (CAE), was held in Beijing. China Energy Deputy CEO Mi Shuhua attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
At the seminar, guests exchanged views on “hydrogen development strategy” and “hydrogen energy industry development.” In his speech, Mi Shuhua introduced China Energy’s exploration in the field of hydrogen development and major problems existing in China’s hydrogen energy industry, and put forward relevant suggestions. He stressed that to propel the development of hydrogen energy industry in a scientific manner, efforts should be made in following aspects: First, strengthen top-level design from the national level and make plans for the development of hydrogen energy industry in a scientific way. Second, formulate and improve safety system standards and strengthen the construction of relevant testing and inspection institutions. Third, increase support for scientific and technological innovation, set up national special and key laboratories for hydrogen energy, and systematically carry out technological research and development. Fourth, increase industrial policy support and pursue balanced development of hydrogen energy industry. Fifth, support the China National Alliance of Hydrogen and Fuel Cell (China Hydrogen Alliance) in playing a major role in facilitating the development of the industry.
In recent years, China Energy initiated the founding of China Hydrogen Alliance, played a lead role in undertaking CAE key project “China’s Hydrogen Energy and Fuel Cell Industry Development Strategy Research,” completed National Energy Administration’s key project “Special Study on Hydrogen Energy Development,” compiled and released White Paper on China’s Hydrogen Energy and Fuel Cell Industry, organized and hosted China Hydrogen Energy and Fuel Cell Industry Forum, and made preparations for a Hydrogen Energy Industry Expo.
At present, the group has basically formed technological reserves in the hydrogen energy industry, including hydrogen production from coal, hydrogen purification, hydrogenation and fuel cell system integration. Soon, China Energy will launch a renewable energy hydrogen production and hydrogenation integration project in Zhangjiakou, co-host city of the 2022 Winter Olympics, to meet hydrogen demand of the Games.
