To promote health poverty alleviation, the group company recently joined hands with Sichuan Provincial People’s Hospital to carry out three-day free screening and treatment for congenital heart disease among children in Puge County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province.
The charity program was co-initiated by China Energy Public Welfare Foundation and Sichuan Provincial People’s Hospital. With assistance from the local public health authority, a medical team composed of five experts from the Children’s Heart Center of Sichuan Provincial People’s Hospital conducted free congenital heart disease screening and treatment for more than 2,600 children in a kindergarten and a primary school in Puge County, and revisited children who had undergone congenital heart disease surgery.
The medical team has screened 11 children suspected of congenital heart disease. After reexamination and diagnosis, the group company and the hospital will facilitate hospital admission for children who meet the surgical indications and financial aid conditions, and a congenital heart disease relief model featuring a combination of the basic medical insurance and financial aid from China Energy Public Welfare Foundation will be established, so that children suffering from the disease from families with financial difficulties in the minority-inhabited areas can be treated in a timely manner.
