After the outbreak of the novel coronavirus pneumonia, China Energy immediately responded by holding a meeting to arrange the prevention and control work of the pneumonia epidemic, with an aim to safeguard the health, wellbeing and safety of its employees and maintain normal operations of its enterprises.
On January 23, to implement the decisions and arrangements by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on epidemic prevention and control, leadership of the group company issued an “emergency circular on doing a good job in the prevention and control of pneumonia infected by a novel coronavirus.” The document requires all units to attach great importance to the prevention and control of the epidemic and fully support and cooperate with local governments to prevent the spread of the epidemic. Subsidiaries based in Hubei are required to carry out prevention work in accordance with the unified arrangements of the local governments, and all units should improve the communication mechanism, strengthen communication with local governments, closely follow the information about the epidemic situation, and report the epidemic situation in a timely manner.
On January 27, the corporation set up a steering group for epidemic prevention and control, which held a meeting on the same day, requiring all units to fully understand the current situation of the epidemic, prioritize efforts to secure power supply amid the work of epidemic prevention and control, put employees’ health and safety first, strive to do a good job on all fronts during the epidemic, and earnestly perform social responsibility as a centrally-administered state-owned enterprise. On January 30, the steering group held its second meeting to study the current and post-holiday epidemic prevention and control as well as key tasks in production and operation of the group. The meeting rolled out goals for now and for some time to come: prevent and control the spread of the epidemic, ensure safe production, safeguard the health of employees and secure power supply. To do a good job in epidemic prevention and control and steady production, the meeting required all units to detail epidemic prevention and control measures, make every effort to ensure safe production, effectively implement production and management plans, improve staff’s prevention awareness and skill, and strengthen information sharing.
