On February 24, China Energy’s Leading Group for Epidemic Prevention and Control held its fourth meeting to further deploy the group’s work related to epidemic prevention and control as well as production and operations. Chairman Wang Xiangxi presided over the meeting, and CEO Liu Guoyue announced “Notice on Taking Scientific and Targeted Measures to Prevent and Control COVID-19 Epidemic.” Other leaders of the group attended the meeting.
Wang Xiangxi noted that four tasks should be placed high on agenda.
First, continue the efforts in epidemic prevention and control. Wang stressed closely monitoring the epidemic situation, implementing the work arrangements made at the group’s video conference on epidemic prevention and control, promoting region-specific multi-level resumption of production and operations, and strengthening prevention and care measures after production resumption, so as to ensure there is no mass infection and “zero case” at the front line while operations proceed in an orderly and efficient manner.
Second, propel steady production and operations. Wang required the staff to stay focused on the goals and tasks for the whole year, and do a good job in production, operations, reform and development. In this trying time, he said, particular efforts should be made to ensure coal supply, power supply and heating to provide energy support for Hubei, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and Northeast China. He also required to strengthen research and analysis of the market situation and promote coordinated resumption of production and operations in all links of all industrial chains in accordance with the central government’s strategic requirements on region-specific, multi-level and targeted prevention and control approaches. All subsidiaries should strengthen internal material support, improve investment management system and mechanism, and establish long-term mechanisms for quality and efficiency improvement.
Third, double down on accomplishing the goal of eradicating poverty. Continued efforts will be made to implement the Three-year Action Plan for Pollution Prevention and Control and get well-prepared to prevent and respond to all kinds of risks.
Fourth, secure safety and stability to help win the war on the epidemic. Wang required to improve safety awareness for employees, enhance on-site safety management, and strictly implement safety regulations according to the guidelines of the “Year of Production Safety and Environmental Risk Control” to prevent and defuse major safety risks. He also stressed strengthening care and support for employees and maintaining the harmony and stability of the company and society.
