On the afternoon of June 3, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) and the Hubei Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government jointly held a video conference to mobilize central state-owned enterprises (SOEs) to help revitalize the virus-hit Hubei Province by pooling their resources and strength and deepening strategy synergy and project cooperation with Hubei. Chairman of China Energy Investment Corporation Wang Xiangxi was invited to speak at the conference, and CEO Liu Guoyue and other top leaders including Mi Shuhua, Wang Shumin, and Cai Anhui also attended the meeting.
In his speech, Wang Xiangxi, on behalf of China Energy, expressed high respect to the heroic people of Hubei who made great sacrifices and contributions in the prevention and control of the epidemic, as well as his heartfelt appreciation to SASAC and Hubei Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government for the care and support they have offered to China Energy over the years.
Wang said that to fulfill its duty as a central enterprise, China Energy has rolled out specific measures for post-epidemic revitalization of Hubei based on thorough study.
First, ensure the security and stability of energy supply in Hubei. The group company will fully leverage its strengths in integrated operation involving coal, electricity, highways, ports and shipping, make sure that the existing generating units operate smoothly and stably, and ensure coal supply for Hubei, so as to provide reliable power support for the revitalization of the province.
Second, provide full support for Hubei to accomplish the task of ensuring security in six areas. The company will continue to deepen cooperation with upstream and downstream enterprises in Hubei, strengthen collaboration with universities and research institutes, expand the recruitment of graduates from Hubei-based universities, and increase the procurement of raw materials, equipment and agricultural products from Hubei Province.
Third, help Hubei promote high-quality development. Efforts will be made to conscientiously implement the strategic cooperation agreement signed between China Energy and Hubei Provincial Government at the end of last year, help the province achieve the goals of its 14th Five-Year Plan for economic and social progress and energy development, and accelerate the launch of China Energy-funded projects in Hubei.
