After rounds of testing, the National Institute of Clean-and-Low-Carbon Energy (NICE) received on September 9 the Attestation of Conformity by the TÜV SÜD Certification and Testing (China) Co., Ltd. for its 35MPa Hydrogen Dispenser.

The testing was comprised of 21 components including measuring the volume of hydrogen storage, the rate of increasing the working pressure, the control accuracy of pressure increases, the non-communication and complete filling procedure, and the tolerance range of its working pressure. The Attestation of Conformity confirms that the equipment complies with the international standards of the SAE J2601-2016 Fueling Protocols for Light Duty Gaseous Hydrogen Surface Vehicles, the SAE J2601-2-2014 Fueling Protocols for Gaseous Hydrogen Powered Heavy Duty Vehicles, and the ANSI/CSA HGV4.3-2016 Test methods for hydrogen fueling parameter evaluation. This is the first time that a hydrogen dispenser developed by China obtains such an international certification, marking that the NICE’s technology of rapid hydrogen dispensing has reached the leading level in the industry.
In recent years, the NICE’s R&D team of hydrogen power technology has been focusing on developing the technologies of directional hydrogen purification and hydrogen quality control, and the key technologies for hydrogen refueling stations. All these technologies will be applied to fuel cell vehicles. The 35MPa hydrogen dispenser could refuel a logistics vehicle within three minutes or a bus within five minutes. So far, a total of six hydrogen refueling stations applying the NICE’s hydrogen refueling technologies have been put into use in and outside the China Energy Investment Corporation.
