The All-China Federation of Trade Unions recently announced the 2021 list of candidates for the honors “National May Day Labor Medal” and “National Worker Vanguard.” The opencast coal mining team of Shengli Energy Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of China Energy, was nominated as a candidate for the title of “National Worker Vanguard.”
Shengli Opencast Coal Mine is one of China’s eight coal mines for emergency supply and 14 with advanced production capacity. A frontline core production team, the opencast coal mining team is responsible for raw coal excavation, loading and dressing. In 2020, the team produced more than 21 million tons of raw coal, ranking first in Xilin Gol League of Inner Mongolia and seventh in the country. Over the years, it has totally produced 230 million tons of coal, ensuring heating supply for the region and benefiting local people.
To promote technological innovation, the team set up the Sunstone Innovation Studio. Its members developed China’s first electric excavator tail cable roller that solves the problem of cable damage and prevents electric shock, for which they won the national appearance design patent. The bucket teeth reserved transposition technology they invented has helped reduce cost by more than 2.4 million yuan, and the wide excavation method they adopted can enhance production efficiency by 15%.
