On April 1, China Energy Investment Corporation and China COSCO Shipping Corporation Limited signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement in Shanghai. Wang Xiangxi, chairman of China Energy, joined Chairman Xu Lirong and President Fu Gangfeng of COSCO Shipping to attend the signing ceremony. The two parties conducted in-depth communication on deepening cooperation. Yang Feng, vice president of China Energy, and Huang Xiaowen, vice president of COSCO Shipping, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective companies.
During the talks, Wang Xiangxi introduced the reform, development and operations of China Energy and extended thanks to COSCO Shipping for its long-term support to China Energy. He also expressed the hope that based on their previous cooperation, the two parties will give greater play to their respective advantages and conduct in-depth cooperation on logistics, equipment manufacturing, overseas business, and other areas so as to jointly make contributions to China’s economic development.
Xu Lirong warmly welcomed the delegation of China Energy led by Wang, and expressed gratitude to China Energy for its long-term support to COSCO Shipping. During the talks, Xu elaborated on the industrial structure, overall strengths and operations of COSCO Shipping. He noted that the two parties have maintained a cooperative relationship for a long time, hoping the signing of this agreement will produce an opportunity for the two sides to strengthen connection and broaden cooperation in areas such as transportation, logistics, and overseas business expansion, thus providing strong support for a stable supply chain in the era of new development.
