At 8:40 a.m. on June 25, the last turbine of the Bozhong B2 offshore wind power project of the Shandong branch of Guohua Energy Investment Co., Ltd. (“Guohua Investment” for short), a subsidiary of CHN Energy, completed the LPS test. This marked CHN Energy’s first affordable offshore wind power project and first wind power project in Shandong, which was approved, constructed and put into operation in the same year, began to generate electricity at full capacity and connect to the grid.

The Bozhong B2 offshore wind power project, located on the Bohai Sea near Dongying Port in Dongying City, Shandong Province, is a key project conducted by CHN Energy in 2023. It has a total installed capacity 501.5MW and a total investment of 5.3 billion yuan. Comprised of 59 8.5MW wind turbines, the project is 19 kilometers away from the coast, with an average water depth of 17-19 meters. It ranks first in terms of single turbine power and diameter in both CHN Energy and Shandong.

Since the first batch of turbines were put into operation and connected to the grid, the project has generated about 157 million kWh of clean electricity. After the project began operation at full capacity, it can annually generate electricity of nearly 1.59 billion kWh, which can meet the annual electricity need of 1.72 million households in Shandong Province, and play a positive role in promoting the green transformation of the local energy structure and economic development.
