On August 2, the Fortune magazine announced its 2023 Global 500 list, and CHN Energy ranked 76th with business revenue of US$121.584 billion, up nine places from 2022 to reach a new high.
As per data released by the Fortune magazine, among the 23 Chinese energy companies that entered the list of the 2023 Global 500 list, CHN Energy ranked 6th in terms of business revenue, 5th in terms of profit (nearly US$5.7 billion), and 2nd in terms of net profit margin (4.7%).
In the first half of 2023, CHN Energy achieved coal output of 300 million tons, coal sales volume of 410 million tons, power generation of 571.1 billion kWh, heat supply of 280 million GJ, and railway transportation volume of 270 million tons. The loading capacity of the two ports under the corporation reached 120 million tons, achieving a total shipping volume of 120 million tons. In addition, CHN Energy’s output of chemicals, including major intermediate products, hit 14.11 million tons. In 2022, it obtained A-grade in the business performance assessment for heads of centrally administered state-owned enterprises, ranking 7th in total, the best level since the restructuring of the corporation.
