On March 12th, Jiangsu Power Grid's first new energy central control center, CHN Energy Guohua Investment Jiangsu Branch's new energy central control center located in the Economic Development Zone of Dongtai City, Jiangsu Province, was officially put into operation.

The image shows the on-duty personnel at the Guohua Investment Jiangsu Branch's control center monitoring panel.

This center simultaneously manages 125 offshore wind turbines and 496 onshore wind turbines in Jiangsu and Anhui provinces. Upon entering the control room, a large electronic monitoring screen covering an entire wall greets visitors, providing real-time monitoring of 10 onshore wind farms, 2 offshore wind farms, and 1 photovoltaic power station with a total installed capacity of 1.71 million kilowatts. Its management scope covers Yancheng, Xuzhou, Suqian, and Huai'an in Jiangsu, as well as Ma'anshan and Suzhou in Anhui, encompassing six cities and eight counties.

Wu Xiaohui, the duty manager, explained that if the turbines from the company's 13 sites were lined up in a row, the linear distance would be approximately 800 kilometers. In the past, each wind farm required 4 to 10 staff members to monitor the operation of transformer stations and turbine equipment. However, issues such as repeated personnel allocation, decentralized power generation farm sites, high operation and maintenance costs, and a large number of subsystems have become increasingly prominent, necessitating intensified management and digital transformation.

The Guohua Investment Jiangsu Branch fully recognizes the importance of an intensive production management model, aligning with policy directions, exploring innovative breakthroughs in the functions of the central control system, and striving to effectively leverage the efficiency of intensive management. It has established four special task forces and actively constructed a "power grid dedicated line + centralized monitoring + advanced application" central control platform, enabling the "intelligent brain" to empower new productive forces. The company repeatedly cross-checked various types of measurement point tables and fault code tables to ensure the accuracy and completeness of raw data, and continuously tracked the reactivation of standby fault code tables caused by real-time updates of turbine programs on-site. It ensured whether the original SCADA system and the central control system equipment alarms, fault trigger times, and descriptions were consistent; it tracked and coordinated remote control operations and feedback signal recovery records for substation equipment switches, turbine start-stop, and reset operations, and coordinated cooperation among future manufacturers, turbine manufacturers, and site personnel to supervise the completion of work nodes and problem rectification loops.

The newly launched central control center is divided into three main modules: equipment monitoring, video monitoring, and intelligent data analysis applications, realizing functions such as operation monitoring, fault warning, fault diagnosis, and business analysis. It highly integrates real-time databases, wind power forecasting, submarine cable information, marine meteorology, and other systems, laying the foundation for the efficient operation mode of "unmanned duty, fewer personnel on duty, and labor-saving" for new energy stations, significantly increasing economic benefits.

Over the course of a year, the company completed the signal access of 621 turbines from 13 wind farms, achieving centralized monitoring for the entire company. In 2020, it became the first pilot unit for the construction of a new energy central control center in Jiangsu Province, and in March 2024, it passed the acceptance inspection of Jiangsu Power Grid Company and was officially put into operation, becoming the first central control center in Jiangsu Province to obtain dispatching operation permission through grid certification.
