On April 18th, as train No.872571 passed through Danzhouying Station, CHN Energy’s first station-based regional centralized traffic control (CTC) system passed its first trial operation. This trial represents a significant step of CHN Energy to cultivate and develop new quality productive forces through technological innovation, vigorously advancing the transformation of transportation industry dispatch and command models and creating a comprehensive modernized energy transportation corridor.

The regional CTC system selects the Datong-Jungar Railway as a pilot. The Datong-Jungar Railway’s 24 stations are divided into eight station-centralized areas. Each area includes a central station and a centralized control center. The system integrates essential foundational train operation equipment such as computer interlocking, electric derailer, departure line anti-slipping devices, and wireless shunting locomotive monitoring systems uses decentralized autonomous control (regional centralized control) as the core to achieve integrated train operation management and control. It can facilitate transport dispatch and station management through "remote centralized control, minimal on-site staffing, and unmanned operation." Once the CTC is applied on the entire Datong-Jungar Railway, it is expected to reduce manual operations by about 40 people, saving over 10 million yuan of cost annually.

The trial is an essential milestone for CHN Energy in advancing the digitization and intelligentization of its business, transport, production and safety management. It further enhances transportation production efficiency, optimizes the organization of transportation and the layout of railway transportation production, providing robust support for the development of new productive forces and digital transformation in heavy-haul railways.
