On September 18, the 220-ton Autonomous Mining Truck Technology developed by CHN Energy successfully passed the research achievement evaluation organized by the China Coal Industry Association. The reviewing experts concluded that this technology reaches the world-leading level.
This project primarily aims to address challenges in harsh mining environments, such as accurately estimating and tracking the status of obstacles, detecting targets in dusty conditions, and identifying obstacles on bumpy roads. It involves in-depth research into an autonomous truck system integrating perception, decision-making, control, and ground scheduling, as well as technologies for multi-source obstacle perception and positioning, vehicle control under complex mining traffic conditions, and high-precision dynamic grouping for intelligent scheduling. The project has overcome the bottlenecks of key technologies including retrofitting mining trucks with line control, comprehensive coverage of onboard sensors, precise perception and positioning, high-precision motion control, intelligent scheduling for multiple groupings, and vehicle-road-cloud dual-network secure communication.
The project has enabled full-scene automated operations for mining trucks during transportation, covering the entire process of “starting-loading-transporting-unloading-parking.” Additionally, it allows for efficient and collaborative operations between autonomous mining trucks and auxiliary equipment such as electric shovels, bulldozers, water trucks, and graders, achieving the goal of unmanned transport operations in the mining area.
