On September 20, the renewable hydrogen produced at Qingshuiying Hydrogen Plant under CHN Energy was successfully integrated into the coal-based ammonia synthesis facility of Ningxia Coal Industry Olefins Division. This marks the successful integration of CHN Energy's first 10,000-ton photovoltaic (PV) renewable hydrogen project with the world's largest single coal-to-liquid project, achieving a fully integrated electricity-hydrogen-chemical system. Consequently, CHN Energy has further expanded the application scenarios of hydrogen energy by coupling it with coal, chemicals, railways, shipping, and transportation as well as  sales.

The Phase I project of the Ningdong Renewable Hydrogen and Carbon Reduction Demonstration Zone, where Qingshuiying Hydrogen Plant is located, has two hydrogen refueling stations with a total capacity of 4,000 kg per day, which can produce about 4,508.6 tons of hydrogen annually. The Phase II project includes a demonstration project on key technologies for a 10-megawatt alkaline-PEM mixed hydrogen production system, with plans for a hydrogen plant with an annual output of 1,697 tons, which is expected to be completed by 2025.

Once operational, the project is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 836,400 tons annually, amounting to about 20.91 million tons over a 25-year operational period, significantly contributing to the development of new quality productive forces, facilitating local energy industry transformation, and supporting China's carbon neutrality goals.
