On October 30, PT Shenhua Guohua Pembangkitan Jawa Bali (SGPJB) was awarded Top Human Capital Awards 2024, marking its first time receiving this prestigious recognition.
The Top HC Awards in Indonesia is established and presented by the Top Business Media Group to honor companies or individuals that have demonstrated innovative practices and outstanding achievements in talent development, leadership, employee engagement and performance management. Abdul Kadir Karding, the Minister of the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration, remarked that SGPJB has made significant contributions to Indonesia's socio-economic development and fulfilled its social responsibilities.

Located on the western part of Java Island, near the Java Sea, SGPJB is a joint venture between China Shenhua Energy Company Limited and Indonesia’s state-owned electricity company PLN NR. It is the largest thermal power plant with independent intellectual property rights invested by a Chinese company abroad. It is also the largest, most advanced and most efficient environmentally friendly power plant in Indonesia's history, with the highest parameters and technical standards.
Since the commissioning of its two units in 2019 and 2020, the company has generated a total of 55.59 billion kWh of electricity, effectively supporting the stable operation of the Java-Bali power grid and alleviating Indonesia’s electricity shortage. The company has also contributed to the development of local industries such as coal and transportation, fostering a positive cycle in the upstream and downstream industrial chains.
In October of this year, SGPJB also won the Subroto Award in the category of Power Safety for large power plants (>200 MW).
