As of February 27, CHN Energy’s Huanghua Port has surpassed a cumulative coal throughput of 3 billion metric tons, providing critical support for national energy security and high-quality economic development.

As China’s largest coal-handling port, Huanghua Port leverages CHN Energy’s integrated advantages in coal production, power generation, railway networks, port operations, and shipping to establish a highly efficient transportation system. The port has maintained an annual cargo throughput exceeding 200 million tons for eight consecutive years and ranked first in coal throughput among Chinese coal ports for six straight years.

In recent years, Huanghua Port has driven innovation in green and smart port development. By independently developing fully automated coal-handling systems and equipment coordination technologies, the port has improved loading efficiency by 10%, further enhancing operational efficiency and intelligent capabilities.

Since the start of 2025, Huanghua Port has strengthened collaboration with sales, railway and shipping partners. By establishing precision coal preparation mechanisms and coordinated maintenance plans with railway and port teams, the port has optimized resource allocation and boosted turnover efficiency, achieving a strong start in year-opening loading and unloading operations. Concurrently, the port deepened cooperation with maritime and meteorological authorities, refining its smart weather service platform and implementing a three-tier wind speed alert system. These measures successfully mitigated disruptions from 10 major windstorms, ensuring safe and stable operations.

Additionally, Huanghua Port introduced dual waiting zones (pre-port and in-port) to provide temporary anchorage services for incoming vessels, while optimizing berth-shifting processes for general cargo, significantly accelerating ship turnover. The port also balanced production scheduling with equipment maintenance, scientifically planning annual repair programs to enhance coordination between upkeep and operations. These efforts have solidified the port’s role as a secure and efficient hub for energy transportation.
