The world’s first integrated floating platform for wind power and aquaculture, Guoneng Sharing, independently developed by China Longyuan Power Group Corporation Limited, has recently passed acceptance by a panel of authoritative experts in Beijing.

Located in the waters off Nanri Island, Putian, Fujian Province, the project marks a significant breakthrough in China’s three-dimensional development of marine resources.

The innovative Guoneng Sharing platform combines a 4-megawatt floating wind turbine with an intelligent deep-sea aquaculture cage system capable of rearing 50,000 deep-sea fish. The project overcame multiple technical challenges, including performance analysis of the three-column semi-submersible floating foundation integrated with aquaculture nets and the design of its mooring system. It also pioneered a structural design that merges semi-submersible wind turbines with aquaculture cages.

Since its commissioning, the platform has operated stably, with wind turbine reliability maintained above 95% and a record of 120 consecutive hours of full-capacity power generation. Meanwhile, the aquaculture zone generates millions of yuan in revenue per production cycle, demonstrating a new model of coordinated development between “green energy and blue food production”. The platform has also withstood multiple typhoon tests, validating its structural stability and reliability.

The successful implementation of this project provides an innovative blueprint for the integrated utilization of marine resources in China and offers a Chinese solution for the global convergence of offshore wind power and deep-sea aquaculture.
