Held in China from June 4th to 8th, the 2025 World Youth Energy Tour brought together 14 international youth representatives from eight countries to visit CHN Energy. They conducted field studies to learn about the development of clean energy technologies within Chinese energy enterprises. The delegation visited CHN Energy's Dongying Offshore Photovoltaic Project in Shandong province and Pubugou Hydropower Station on the Dadu River in Sichuan province, gaining in-depth insights into China's technological innovations in the new energy sector.

In the waters off Dongying, Shandong province, the representatives inspected the Guohua Energy Investment 1-gigawatt (GW) offshore photovoltaic project. As the world's largest open-sea PV project currently, it showcases China's innovative practices in marine resource development and green energy integration.

China's development of such a large-scale offshore PV project demonstrates extraordinary resolve and immense potential in its green energy transition, remarked Jose Renato Peneluppi Jr., a public administration scholar from Brazil specializing in development policy and energy transition, after touring the offshore PV site. The sheer scale and cutting-edge engineering of this project are truly impressive. It is not only a feat of energy engineering but a perfect fusion of human ingenuity and strategic foresight, he added.

In Ya'an, Sichuan province, the delegates observed the smart management systems at Pubugou Hydropower Station. The station utilizes new technologies like inspection robots and big data platforms to balance efficient clean energy utilization with ecological protection.

Azarine Raina Erwita Putri, an energy research analyst of World Resources Institute, Indonesia, noted that developing reliable and advanced renewable energy infrastructure is essential for accelerating the energy transition. "Visiting Pubugou Hydropower Station was an invaluable experience," she said. "It provided a better understanding that China is not only building efficient renewable energy systems but also taking proactive measures to support sustainable development."

The tour culminated in Beijing at CHN Energy headquarters with the World Youth Energy Partner Dialogue, where participants exchanged views on topics like clean energy transition and international cooperation.

Co-organized by the China International Communications Group (CICG) and CHN Energy, the World Youth Energy Tour is an international exchange program designed to showcase the high-quality development practices of China's energy industry through field visits. This successful event marks the third edition of the tour.
