As of July 5th, the annual cumulative power generation of CHN Energy’s Qinghai Maerdang Hydropower Station has surpassed 2 billion kWh. The station has implemented multiple measures to ensure the safe and stable operation of its generating units, laying a solid foundation for achieving its annual power generation target.

As the highest-altitude hydropower station in the Yellow River basin, Maerdang boasts a total installed capacity of 2,320 megawatts. It serves as the core project of the first hydro-solar-wind-storage integrated clean energy base on the Qinghai section of the upper Yellow River with a capacity exceeding 10 gigawatts.

Regarding safety, Maerdang Hydropower Station has intensified equipment defect inspections and routine maintenance, while closely monitoring equipment status and incoming water flow. The station strictly enforces shift systems and maintains close communication with the power grid dispatch center, promptly adjusting unit operation modes and generation plans based on load fluctuations. By optimizing operational parameters and increasing the power generation head, it has effectively reduced water consumption rates and improved generation efficiency.

The station actively communicates with the Yellow River Conservancy Commission, strengthening hydrological forecast analysis and scientifically regulating reservoir capacity. Through an operational strategy of "generation during high demand and storage during low demand", it ensures units operate under optimal conditions, boosting both power generation and economic returns.
