Since early July, persistent heatwaves across China drove the national peak power load to 1.465 billion kilowatts on July 4 — an increase of 150 million kilowatts year-on-year. Provincial grid loads in Jiangsu, Shandong and elsewhere repeatedly hit record levels. CHN Energy has leveraged its power capacity to ensure stable supply while strengthening safety protocols.
All subsidiaries strictly implemented grid dispatch commands and enhanced equipment maintenance. The commissioning of GW-level units at Zhejiang Beilun and Jiangsu Changzhou power plants, reserve unit activation by Hebei Branch, and targeted initiatives by Henan Branch contributed to a 10-percentage-point rise in operational coal power units and an 11.8-point increase in load rates. Currently, CHN Energy’s 11 subsidiaries maintain unit operation rates above 95%, securing reliable power supply during peak summer demand.
