On October 9, CHN Energy has announced a major technological breakthrough in wind power operation and maintenance. Its subsidiary, Guohua Energy Investment Hebei Branch, has successfully developed a drone-based intelligent inspection and flight path planning system that represents a new milestone in smart wind power management.
.
Currently, in technologically mature wind power markets such as Europe and the United States, blade inspection still largely depends on manual or semi-automated methods. In contrast, Guohua Energy Investment’s innovation establishes a complete intelligent defect recognition system capable of accurately identifying surface corrosion, coating detachment, lightning damage and other defects. It fills the technological gap in rapid visual inspection of blades during operation, avoiding power generation losses caused by shutdowns and eliminating the safety risks associated with manual inspections.
Following large-scale application of this technology across Guohua Energy Investment’s new energy sites, operational data show that blade inspection time has been reduced by more than 50%, defect recognition accuracy exceeds 90%, and operation and maintenance costs, labor intensity and safety risks have been significantly lowered. The system provides reliable data support for equipment maintenance and represents a major step forward in smart wind power management.
As CHN Energy continues to advance digital and intelligent solutions across its renewable energy portfolio, it reaffirms its commitment to low-carbon innovation, operational excellence, and global sustainable development.
