On December 14, a 600 MW photovoltaic project invested in and developed by CHN Energy in Qitai County, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, achieved full-capacity grid connection and began generating power. The project was completed after 428 days of construction.

Located in Qitai County, the project is part of China’s second batch of large-scale wind and PV power base projects focused on desert areas, the Gobi, and other arid areas, and also serves as a supporting new energy project for the second corridor of Xinjiang power transmission to other regions. The project includes 24 collector circuits, one energy storage circuit and 182 box-type substations.
With an installed capacity of 600 MW, the project is expected to save an equivalent of approximately 294,600 tons of standard coal annually and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 738,800 tons, contributing to regional energy transition and ecological environmental protection.
