On December 28,2025, a 200-MW wind power project developed by CHN Energy Guoyuan Power was fully connected to the power grid in Fugu County, northwest China’s Shaanxi Province. The project is part of  China’s first batch of large-scale wind and photovoltaic power bases built in desert  Gobi and other arid areas.

Located in the gully-dissected region of the Loess Plateau, the project comprises 32 wind turbines, each with a rated capacity of 6.25 MW. The complex terrain -- characterized by narrow roads, steep slopes and sharp bends -- posed significant challenges to the transportation of large components such as turbine blades and tower sections. To adress these challenges, the project team upgraded 98 road sections and reinforced five bridges to ensure safe and efficient transport during construction.

In order to minimize influence from adverse weather conditions like rainfall and strong winds during construction phase, the project team established a dynamic management mechanism and optimized construction processes, organizing lifting operations during periods of lower wind speeds or breaks in rainfall to avoid weather-related disruptions.

Once fully operational, the project is expected to generate approximately 424 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually. This is equivalent to saving about 133,800 tons of standard coal each year and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by roughly 328,800 tons.
