On the morning of January 8, the torch relay for the First Shaanxi Provincial Winter Games began in Shenmu city, northwest China’s Shaanxi province. Two staff from CHN Energy, namely Lu Chaochao and Zhang Cuihua, served as torchbearers, carrying the torch in the sixth and eleventh legs of the relay at this stop, respectively.
The Shenmu leg of the torch relay covered a total distance of about 5.2 kilometers, passing through People’s Square, Dongxing Street, the Bell Tower and Yingbin Road before concluding at the Shenmu City Stadium. At 9:40 a.m., Lu Chaochao completed the handover and began his run on Dongxing Street. Later, Zhang Cuihua received the torch at the Huashan Road intersection and continued the eleventh leg of the relay.
The two torchbearers are from CHN Energy Yulin Chemical Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of CHN Energy specialized in chemical business. CHN Energy Yulin Chemical’s staff has participated multiple times in torch relay activities for major local events. During the 17th Shaanxi Provincial Games in 2022, another two staff of the company also served as torchbearers.
The First Shaanxi Provincial Winter Games will be held in Yulin city from January to February this year. A total of 450 torchbearers are taking part in the torch relay for this event.
