On January 19, the World Economic Forum announced the second batch of its AI Solutions Stars (MINDS) list. The complex energy market price forecasting large model ENTRA, jointly developed by CHN Energy and Renmin University of China, was successfully selected.

The model is designed to address the complex coupling relationships and forecasting challenges across multiple energy markets, including coal, electricity, carbon allowances and green certificates in China. Based on the Group’s market and sales data, the research team applied large-model technologies to understand and analyze the interactions among these markets. ENTRA is capable of automatically screening key news, extracting market dynamics, inferring market expectations, and enhancing the predictive performance of traditional models. According to the development team, with multimodal enhancement techniques, the model’s forecasting accuracy has improved by more than 50 percent compared with existing benchmark models.

The World Economic Forum’s MINDS program is evaluated by a global panel of experts and aims to identify artificial intelligence applications with strong innovation and impact. The development of the ENTRA model was supported by the Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission and the Administrative Commission of Zhongguancun Science Park. Its application will provide technical reference for understanding complex energy market mechanisms and promoting coordinated market development.
