On February 3, the 200-MW Shahai Wind Power Project developed by CHN Energy Liaoning Branch in Jianping County, Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province, achieved full-capacity grid connection.

Located in the southern mountainous area of Shahai Town, Jianping County, the project has installed a total of 38 wind turbines, including 28 units rated at 5 MW each and 10 units rated at 6 MW each. Supporting facilities include seven 35-kV collector lines, a 220-kV step-up substation, as well as energy storage systems and synchronous condensers.

After full commissioning, the project is expected to deliver approximately 597 million kilowatt-hours of electricity to the grid annually. This output is estimated to save about 192,100 tons of standard coal each year and reduce emissions of carbon dioxide by around 478,700 tons and nitrogen oxides by approximately 7,200 tons.

Project construction faced challenges such as complex mountainous terrain and narrow, steep access roads, making the transportation of large wind turbine blades and equipment particularly difficult. The project team ensured progress, safety and quality by optimizing construction and transportation plans and adopting measures such as heated and insulated concrete pouring and continuous operations to address the low winter temperatures typical of western Liaoning.
