Hou Hao, a post-95 employee from the transport team of Zhunneng Group's Ha'erwusu Open-pit Coal Mine, completed his hematopoietic stem cell collection in Inner Mongolia on April 24. The 238-milliliter suspension was immediately dispatched to a blood disease patient he had never met.
Hou Hao thus became the sixth donor from CHN Energy Zhunneng Group, the 15th in Jungar Banner, and the 246th hematopoietic stem cell donor in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

It all began in 2024. During a voluntary blood donation activity organized by his company, Hou Hao first learned about hematopoietic stem cell donation and discovered that it could save the lives of blood disease patients. Without much thought, he left a blood sample on the spot and joined the China Marrow Donor Program.
In early April this year, the Red Cross informed him that his initial matching was successful. Hou Hao did not hesitate and agreed to donate. Subsequently, he passed high-resolution testing and a comprehensive physical examination, and all indicators met the requirements.
His family's concern was inevitable. Hou Hao spent some time explaining the principles, process and safety of the donation to them. "At the beginning, I was indeed a little worried," his mother Quan Ruifen said. "Later, our child told us that this was to save a person's life, something very meaningful. We also consulted professional doctors and learned that it is scientific and safe. Seeing him so determined, we felt relieved and proud of him."

After the collection, which lasted more than three hours, the 238 milliliters of hematopoietic stem cell suspension was taken by a designated courier and urgently delivered to the hospital in the patient's city.
Zhunneng Group has long actively practiced the public welfare development philosophy of contributing to society and conveying great love, guiding its employees to devote themselves to charitable endeavors in all aspects and through multiple channels. To date, six employees of Zhunneng Group, including Hou Hao, have successfully completed hematopoietic stem cell donations.
