The grid connection system plan for the Zhuhai Gaolan I offshore wind power project of CHN Energy Guohua Energy Investment Guangdong Branch officially received approval from China Southern Power Grid on April 15. This project is the Group's first offshore wind project to adopt a 500 kV transmission scheme, marking a key milestone in its preliminary work.

The project is located in the sea area south of Gaolan Island and Hebao Island in Zhuhai City, with a planned installed capacity of 500,000 kilowatts. It will install 36 wind turbines each with a capacity of 14 megawatts, along with one 500 kV offshore booster station and an onshore control center.
Grid connection approval is a prerequisite for investment decisions and construction start of new energy projects. It directly affects the determination of key technical parameters such as primary and secondary electrical systems and communications, and also serves as an important basis for the planning and construction of supporting grid transmission projects. Because this project connects to the grid at the 500 kV voltage level, the final review and approval of its grid connection system plan are handled by the headquarters of China Southern Power Grid, which imposes strict standards and complex procedures.
Next, the company will advance the review of four special reports on reactive power compensation, overvoltage, power quality and sub-super synchronous oscillation, and coordinate with Guangdong Power Grid to initiate the planning and construction of the 500 kV supporting transmission project.
