CHN Energy Guangdong Branch generated a total of 5.955 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity in May, a substantial increase of 41.45% year on year, officially setting a new record for the company's highest-ever monthly power output. The release of this phase of production capacity marks a significant increase in its base energy supply capability ahead of the summer peak demand season.

Since late May, many parts of Guangdong Province in southern China have experienced persistent high temperatures, causing the province's overall electricity load to break historical records on three separate occasions. The first regional peak electricity load of the year arrived nearly two months earlier than the usual seasonal cycle, leading to a sharp surge in regional power demand over a short period.
In response to rapidly rising grid demand, the company worked closely with regional dispatch authorities to dynamically optimize the operating status of key generating units and routine maintenance schedules, ensuring that major power generation equipment remained capable of operating at full capacity. In the upstream supply chain, the company adjusted procurement plans and waterborne transportation networks for essential fuels such as coal and natural gas in advance, based on market price trends and regional logistics conditions, ensuring a stable supply of fuel for frontline generating units.
During this period of extreme heat, the company's record-high electricity output effectively offset the pressure created by the sudden increase in regional grid demand. The large-scale and stable operation of its conventional power generation units helped ease short-term regional power shortages and provided strong energy support for the high-quality development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
