Construction has officially begun on the 120 MW Phase I wind power project in Dongguang County, north China's Hebei Province. The project is jointly invested and developed by Hebei Expressway Group Limited and CHN Energy Hebei Branch. It represents an important initiative by Hebei Expressway Group Limited to leverage its resources along transportation routes and promote the deep integration of transport infrastructure and the new energy industry.

The project will feature 16 intelligent 7.5 MW wind turbines, along with a standardized 220 kV step-up substation. Green construction and digital intelligent management and control will be implemented throughout the construction process, aiming to creat a model project for the smart development of low-wind-speed wind power in the plains of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

During construction, the project will adhere to the principles of intensive and efficient use of landas well as green, low-carbon development. Through measures such as optimizing turbine layouts, consolidating land use and promoting compact construction, the project will achieve efficient resource utilization with approximately 1.9 hectares of construction land. It will advance project development and ecological protection in a coordinated manner while strictly safeguarding the red line for the protection of cultivated land.

The project is expected to achieve full-capacity grid connection and power generation by July 30, 2027. Once operational, it will generate more than 275 million kWh of electricity annually, replacing 77,400 tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 222,200 tons each year. It will provide a stable power supply for nearly 100,000 households in Dongguang County, delivering ecological, social and economic benefits.
