Deep in the vast grasslands, students run freely and strive for excellence in the newly built gymnasium at Baorixile Middle School in Old Barag Banner, brimming with youthful energy. A steady stream of new teaching equipment has also arrived, providing fresh impetus for local education. These everyday scenes of a thriving community come together to reflect the encouraging transformation taking place across the grasslands.

Rural revitalization starts with talent
Chunlin Village is inhabited by an ethnic minority group, located 135 kilometers from the seat of the Oroqen Autonomous Banner government in Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia, in the southeastern foothills of the Greater Khingan Mountains. The village once relied mainly on agriculture and animal husbandry and had a weak economic foundation. It was designated as a key village receiving support under China's rural revitalization efforts. Since taking on the support task in 2021, Baorixile Energy has dispatched three outstanding officials to work in the village, where they have put down roots at the grassroots level and worked to serve local residents.
“Since the officials arrived, they have genuinely worked to address our needs and helped us open up markets, which has increased both the prices and sales of our agricultural products,” said the head of the village, expressing his gratitude. The officials brought not only funding and projects, but also new ideas and approaches. Through their active coordination, Baorixile Energy has repeatedly organized teams to conduct field research in Chunlin Village, inspecting the edible mushroom and fish farming bases and emphasizing the need to ensure that quality products can truly reach the market. Focusing on strengthening and increasing the income of the village's collective economy, the company supported the construction of four edible mushroom greenhouses and two drying greenhouses, promoting large-scale industrial development and creating local employment opportunities. The initiative has helped villagers increase their incomes by a cumulative 250,000 yuan (about 37,300 USD), allowing specialty industries to contribute to better lives for local residents.

Industries drive endogenous rural growth
In early autumn, Chunlin Village is filled with the vitality of a bountiful harvest. Standardized edible mushroom greenhouses stand in neat rows, with mushrooms growing vigorously inside. Villagers work together in an orderly manner, harvesting, sorting and processing the produce, creating a bustling scene of abundance in the fields.
The transformation of rural industries has been driven by targeted support from the company. Chunlin Village is endowed with abundant, high-quality forest resources on the eastern slopes of the Greater Khingan Mountains, giving it rich local products of excellent quality. However, limited transportation and narrow sales channels had long left these specialty agricultural products struggling to find markets despite their quality. To expand income-generating opportunities, the company has deepened its consumer assistance efforts and regularly implemented a support mechanism centered on purchasing products as a means of providing assistance. It has helped the village sell more than 28,000 jin (14,000 kilograms) of black fungus and more than 10,000 jin (5,000 kilograms) of cold-water fish, with the value of consumer assistance exceeding 1.3 million yuan (about 193,700 USD). It has also supported the establishment of a 15-mu (1-hectare) cultivation base for atractylodes and peonies, diversifying the village's industries and injecting new momentum into high-quality development.
While strengthening industrial development and expanding income channels, Baorixile Energy has also focused on shortcomings in rural infrastructure, continued to increase investment and improved public services to comprehensively enhance villagers' production and living conditions. The company has invested a total of 6 million yuan (about 894,000 USD) specifically to upgrade infrastructure in Chunlin Village, including the high-standard leveling and renovation of grain-drying grounds. It has also renovated a small bridge for villagers' convenience and widened and paved the main rural road, effectively addressing the last-mile challenge in transporting agricultural products. These efforts have enabled the village's high-quality agricultural products to reach the market more directly and laid a solid infrastructure foundation for the long-term development of rural industries.

Since 2019, Baorixile Energy has invested a total of 1.85 billion yuan (about 276 million USD) in key areas including rural revitalization, livelihood support and infrastructure upgrades, demonstrating the responsibility of a central state-owned enterprise through concrete investment. In 2026, the company has continued to increase support for local livelihoods and deepen its services to the communities where it operates, with annual donations to the region planned at 25 million yuan (about 3.73 million USD). To date, 17.6 million yuan (about 2.62 million USD) has been donated, specifically supporting key livelihood projects such as improving education quality in Hailar District and upgrading infrastructure in Old Barag Banner.
Education lays the foundation for the development of all sectors and is fundamental to breaking the cycle of intergenerational poverty and supporting long-term development. Baorixile Energy has consistently supported education in border areas, focusing on improving school conditions and upgrading teaching equipment to help enhance the quality and effectiveness of education across northern China. Among these efforts, the company donated 3 million yuan (about 447,000 USD) to Old Barag Banner for a project to improve conditions at the No. 2 Primary School in Bayankuren Town. It also allocated 6 million yuan (about 894,000 USD) specifically to support the construction of a gymnasium at Baorixile Middle School, allowing students to enjoy a warm, professional sports facility protected from the harsh winter weather and supporting their healthy growth.
Across Hulunbuir, Baorixile Energy's support has reached multiple banners and districts. From upgrading cultural squares and improving park facilities to supporting school construction and caring for people in need, a series of livelihood projects has continued to address shortcomings in public services in border areas, making people's sense of fulfillment, happiness and security more substantial, better protected and more sustainable.
