A delegation of more than 40 members led by a deputy general manager of Indonesia's state-owned electricity company, Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), including technical experts from its power generation division, visited PT.GH EMM INDONESIA under CHN Energy for on-site technical exchanges from September 29 to 30. During the visit, the PLN delegation highly praised the unit's reliability and its integrated lignite utilization technologies. The exchange laid a solid foundation for deeper technical collaboration, sharing China's experience in coal blending and co-firing with Indonesia, and strengthening international cooperation.

During the site visit, the PLN technical team highly commended the honors and awards received by PT.GH EMM INDONESIA, including the Gold Certificate under the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (SMK3) awarded by Indonesia's Ministry of Manpower and the world record achieved by Unit 1 for 1,438 consecutive days of safe and stable operation.
During a technical session on the use of low-calorific-value coal, the company introduced its coal-drying technology and China's domestic coal blending and co-firing practices. Indonesian coal generally has a low calorific value and highly variable ash content, posing significant challenges to stable boiler combustion and increasing the risks of heating-surface wear and boiler slagging. Through repeated testing and technical upgrades, the company developed a combustion strategy tailored to Indonesian lignite. Technological innovation enabled it to overcome key technical challenges, including stable combustion and explosion prevention, ensuring the safe and reliable use of Indonesian lignite with high moisture content, high volatile matter and low calorific value.
The PLN technical team highly recognized the company's efforts to improve the efficient utilization of low-calorific-value coal, noting that its experience could serve as a useful reference for numerous coal-fired power projects across Indonesia. The team also offered future support in areas such as maintenance and spare parts management standards. Both sides agreed to establish regular channels for two-way technical exchanges and learning to continuously improve their operational and management capabilities.
PT.GH EMM INDONESIA will continue to deepen technical collaboration with PLN and strengthen international cooperation, serving as a bridge for the utilization of low-calorific-value coal and the application of coal blending and co-firing technologies. The company will continue to enhance unit reliability, strengthen its demonstration role and expand its international influence, contributing its technical expertise to practical cooperation between China and Indonesia in the energy sector.
